Laying of chemical anchors: how to do it perfectly in solid, perforated masonry and specific materials [Illustrated Guide]

The installation of the anchors represents a fundamental operation so that the fixing can exhibit the expected seal . But what are the fundamental operations to always perform during laying?

The installation of chemical anchors is more delicate than that of mechanical anchors, in this mini guide we will give you general information but remember to always read the instructions of the product before using it, to make sure you perform a professional installation !

In the case of particular products or materials, for example in the case of drilling a hole with a diamond crown or deep installations of bars with improved adhesion, consult the catalog pages and the ETA document.

Installation of chemical anchors in solid masonry : here’s how
Drill the solid material with rotopercussion, respecting the diameter of the drill bit specified in the technical data sheets ; drilling in rotation only in the case of low density solid masonry;
Carefully clean the hole by performing ,

in the case of products equipped with ETA, for bars with a diameter of less than 20 mm and a hole depth of less than 240 mm, 4 blowers with air pump, 4 brushed with a pipe cleaner (after checking the state of wear with appropriate template), 4 blowers with air pump ; for bars with a diameter greater than 20 mm or a hole depth greater than 240 mm, clean in the same way using the compressed air pump with a minimum pressure of 6 bar;

If necessary, mark the bar at the expected anchoring depth;
Mount the static mixer on the cartridge and the cartridge in the appropriate extrusion gun;

Check that the temperature is above + 5 ° C, unless otherwise specified;

Extrude the anchor discarding the first portion of product not yet perfectly mixed, approximately 10 cm of product or in any case until the color is uniform;

Extrude the product into the hole starting from the bottom of the hole, leaving the nozzle always immersed in the extruded resin. It is sufficient to extrude 2/3 of the hole volume. For deep holes use extensions;

Insert the threaded rod with slight rotations ;
Correct installation is indicated by the leakage of resin from the hole . If not, extract the bar and extrude additional resin and reinsert the rotating bar. clean the resin on the surface;

Respect the hardening times according to the type of chemical anchor and the temperature; do not touch the bar until the resin has completely hardened;
Tighten the element to be fixed with a torque wrench to the prescribed tightening torque.
